Glasgow Deaf Athletic Football Club

As a young deaf boy who grew up playing mainstream football, I finally found the opportunity to play deaf football at the age of 15. From 1991 to 2004, I played for Glasgow Deaf and St Vincent Deaf, witnessing the decline of deaf teams over four generations. It is important to me to understand the culture of deaf community football in Glasgow and to ensure that clubs, both existing and those that may be developed in the future, thrive.
I hope that the film I produced will let our community know that we have a deaf football team in Glasgow. As the oldest deaf football team around the world, having been established for 152 years, it is important to keep Glasgow Deaf Athletic Football Club moving forward.
Enjoy the film!
