Falling on Deaf Ears

About the film

An insight into deaf rights and campaigning from three generations of deaf people.

I made this film for all the Rachael’s, Lilian’s, Wren’s and Kara’s, and their families. Despite being systematically failed by their healthcare and education systems, they have shown tenacity and resilience to challenge the barriers that fall on their deaf ears, into positive, local and national campaigning action for the deaf community. This is a story about the importance of deaf heritage and community in building our deaf identities and with that our ability to self-advocate and agitate.
